Step 1

Share on your social pages that you are committed.

We share because it holds us accountable. Encourage others to join you in this journey.

Use the graphics on this page to help.

Don't have social media?

Text a friend daily to help hold you accountable.

Step 2

Follow the 6 step plan EVERY DAY.

If you miss something on a day, start that day over again.

It's all about grace, you don't have to go back to day 1.

You have until you fall asleep to complete the 6 steps.

The point is to keep going!

At the end of 60 days you will have grown closer to God and have created habits of spiritual growth that will continue in the future.

Post the calendar graphic each day and show everyone you are still committed. (Use an emoji or gif X to mark off your days)

do these 6 steps daily

  • Read 1 Chapter Of The Bible

By reading scripture daily you are taking a significant step to open your heart to God and to learn His plans for you and our world. The Bible draws you closer to God, reveals His will and reminds you of His truth.

If you don't know where to start, read the book of John or the book of Proverbs. Read in small sections in an easy translation (like the New Living Translation), and don't be afraid to ask someone for help when you come across something you don't understand. And remember, no one is born understanding the Bible, but everyone can learn!

Consider downloading the YouVersion Bible app for reading plans and other tools to help you get the most out of the Scripture.

  • Pray For 5 Minutes Or More

Prayer helps you develop a relationship with God. Just like your parents here on earth, your Heavenly Father wants to hear from you and talk to you. When you pray, He listens. Then He answers your prayers according to His perfect will.

Prayer doesn't have to be complicated. If you don't have a lot of experience talking to God, try these phrases: "Thank You" (What good things have happened in your life lately?). "I'm Sorry" (What regrets are you carrying today?). "Please" (What needs do you or your loved ones have that you need God to meet?).

In the end, it's important to remember that prayer is a two-way conversation. When we pray, we talk AND we listen. God will speak back to you through His Holy spirit, Scriptures, circumstances or other believers. This app can be a helpful tool for you to stay on track with your prayer life.

  • Fast or Follow A Healthy Meal Plan

The bible says: "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."- 1 Corinthians 10:31

You might think your diet has no impact on your spiritual life, but every part of you is interconnected. Investing in your physical health pays dividends in your spiritual, emotional and relational health as well! Don't get hung up on what meal plan or diet you should follow. Choose one and stick to it. You'll see progress in no time!

Fasting is giving up something (like food or TV or an activity) for a short period, and then devoting the time, energy or money you would have spent on that thing to spiritual pursuits. Combining regular prayer and fasting will jumpstart your spiritual life, and make you much more aware of God's presence and purposes.

  • 45 Minute Physical Activity

Most exercise regimens begin with this thought: "I'm unhappy with my body." And while there is nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel better, Radical 60 challenges you to see your body in a whole new light. Why? Because of 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, which says:

"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received form God? You are not your own: you were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your bodies."

So exercising for 45 minutes a day will certainly help you fit into that new dress or make those biceps pop, but the main motivation is that our bodies are literally the temple of God, and we want to give care to the place God dwells.

As with the daily diet goal, which kind of exercise you get is not half as important as the fact that you are getting regular exercise. So walk, ski, bike, lift, dance - whatever you you prefer! And remember, discipline in this area of life will show results in other areas too!

  • 1 Encouraging Spiritual Connection

To complete this goal each day, you can either find someone to encourage or allow someone to encourage you. You can check this task off as soon as you've given or received intentional encouragement and that conversation had faith based content.

An example of this type of conversation would be:

    Inviting someone to church

    Praying with someone

    Having someone pray with you

Asking for advice from a spiritual mentor

Having a deeper conversation about faith & God in a group or individual setting

When you talk with others over the next 60 days, speak life. Have spiritual conversations that help others grow closer to Jesus, avoid gossip, harsh criticism, and complaining. This is your chance to be known as someone who builds others up, rather than tearing them down.

  • 1 Spiritual Growth Exercise

Just below this text is a list of 12 things that could qualify as spiritual growth exercises.

Choose one of these to do per day.

In doing these exercises on a continual basis you will see your faith stretched and your soul becoming more like Jesus.

    See the explanations below.

Read 10 pages of a Christian book

Other than the Bible, Non-Fiction only. Audiobooks count!

    Attend a Bible study group

This can be online or in person. Here is a list of Connect Groups that are available.

    Attend a church service

Only in person services count for this one. Community worship helps us grow spiritually.

    Listen to worship music

Spotify or Apple Music has many great playlists.

Give financially to YOUR local church

Giving to charity is great, but giving to your church is different.

These financial gifts are what allow the local church to spread the gospel of Jesus. It's always a sacrifice to give, but it's always worth it! Donate through Connect Here.

    Serve with your local church

If you think you aren't needed, think again. Every church needs extra hands and your willingness to serve makes a difference. If you are a part of Connect Church you can discover all the places you can serve HERE.

Journal what God is teaching you

Sometimes we can't even articulate it until we try to write it out. God will be moulding you through these 60 days. Document it!

Do an anonymous act of generosity

Making it anonymous keeps our motivations in check. We do good deeds not to get credit from others but to make God proud.

Forgive someone who has wronged you

This isn't a once and done item, it usually calls for continual action. One of the most difficult things we do in this life is to attempt to forgive someone who does not recognize that they have done something wrong. It is a humbling reminder that God does this for us every single day. If God has forgiven you, you can forgive them, with His help.

Listen to a Christian/faith based podcast

An easy thing to do in the car or while doing laundry.

    Watch an online sermon

Look up a few of your favourite churches on YouTube.

We also have the Alpha Series available for your spiritual growth.

Step 3

Encourage others as they go through this journey. Maybe you are cheering on friends, maybe it's strangers. (check the hashtag #radical60 )

We grow deeper when we grow together. We were not created to do life alone or walk in a spiritual journey alone. You need encouragement and so do they!

better together

Lean into what God has for you over the next 60 days. You will be amazed at the difference it can make in your life. Don't walk through this alone. Join the Radical 60 Connect Group or find a friend who walk with you in this journey. Together we grow.
